To celebrate its 98th birthday, 7-Eleven is bringing back its beloved Free Slurpee Day on July 11th. Besides the legendary frozen drink, this year's celebrations will feature limited-edition cups and tongue tattoos.

Since 2002, 7-Eleven has given away free Slurpees on July 11 of every year; however, the promotion has been scaled back over time.

How to get a 7-Eleven Slurpee for free on July 11?

Participating 7-Eleven, Speedway, or Stripes locations will be giving away a free small Slurpee on the occasion of the convenience store chain's 98th birthday on July 11.


Customers can get a free small Slurpee at participating locations, while loyalty members get additional benefits.
According to 7-Eleven, the offer is only available on Friday and at participating locations while supplies last.

There is also a method to obtain a second freebie. On July 11, scan your 7Rewards and Speedy Rewards app to get your second drink. You'll also receive a coupon for a free small Slurpee that can be used until July 31.

In-store, neither a coupon nor an app is required. In addition, rewards members can enter to win free snacks, drinks, Slurpees, and other items, as per a report by USA Today.

Three flavors will be available to consumers: classic cherry, blue raspberry, which is referred to as a "sweet OG," and MTN DEW Infinite Swirl, which is a limited-edition pineapple berry, as per a report by WCNC.

What’s up with the tongue tattoos?

Members of the 7Rewards and Speedy Rewards loyalty programs will also receive unique Slurpee-activated temporary tongue tattoos at a few 7-Eleven and Speedway locations this year, which is a unique twist.

When applied to the tongue after consuming the frozen beverage, the S-shaped tattoos can be blue, green, red, or purple. Also, a limited-edition cup honoring the company's 98th birthday is available.
