The earthquake's epicentre was 125 miles away in the sea from the USA's southern border, with a mild impact felt in Southern California. No Tsunami is expected, and the earthquake didn't cause much damage to any property in the USA. The ripples of the earthquake extended 200 miles away in Palm Desert, California after it struck off the coast of Baja California in Mexico on Tuesday. A journalist of USA Today saw a building shaking near Del Mar.
A 6.0 magnitude earthquake is not considered a very strong earthquake but it does cause mild property damage. An earthquake measuring 7.0 is a strong earthquake that may cause immense damage and loss of life.

The earthquake mainly affected Mexico's Baja, California and the Michoacan state, where a building was damaged in Uruapan. There were also some landslides reported on the highway that connects Michoacan and Guerrero with the coast of the Pacific Ocean.
Coincidentally an earthquake also hit Indonesia that measured 5.6 and killed over 200 people. More than 22,000 homes were destroyed, and 58,000 people have been displaced. Mainly students have been killed as the earthquake happened during school hours.
Earthquakes happen when tectonic plates get stuck at the edges, and due to stress, there is friction that causes earthquakes.
