33-year-old suspect shoots dead El Paso County police officer Andrew Peery fatally in US. Check out what happened
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has identified John Paz as a suspect in the killing of deputy Andrew Peery, who was shot fatally in the line of duty on Sunday in El Paso County, Denver. The authorities have termed him armed and dangerous.

The deceased officer was identified as Deputy Andrew Peery. Peery, 39, is survived by his wife, Megan, and two children.
The sheriff’s office determined the time of death to be 8:07 p.m. MDT (Mountain Daylight Time).
ESPO has identified John Paz as a suspect in the shooting. Paz was described as a 33-year-old Hispanic male. According to law enforcement, he is armed and dangerous.
Earlier on Sunday, ESPO notified the public of a large police presence in the Ponderosa Dr. and Grand Blvd. area concerning the shooting. Residents were instructed to secure their homes and stay indoors and away from the windows and doors.
Jared Polis, Governor, of Colorado released a statement in which he offered condolences to Peery’s family, friends, and law enforcement. He applauded the law enforcement officers for risking their lives to serve others.
According to the latest reports, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) will lead the investigation of this officer-related shooting. CSPD earlier shared its condolences with ESPO and thanked Deputy Peery for his courage, service and sacrifice.
A procession for the fallen officer began at 8:30 p.m. local time from UCHealth Memorial Hospital Central in Colorado Springs. Before moving to the Coroner’s Office via I-25, the procession went to Nevada St. past the Sheriff’s Office on Vermijo Ave.
