The Boston Bruins had a lot of enthusiasm going into November after their unprecedented nine-game start to the 2022–23 season. During their early-season matchup on Tuesday, the Bruins and Pittsburgh Penguins seemed prepared to take on that respective stinker and slump-buster. A terrible combination of errors, goaltender changes, and unexpected injuries plagued Jim Montgomery's team.

The Bruins were quickly down 1-0 when the Pens captain was left alone in the slot. Nick Foligno did the honours in the post-game embrace with Ullmark in Swayman's absence. Indeed, on a night of comebacks, it was well deserved.
