3.4 earthquake strikes near Pinole in East Bay region
A 3.4-magnitude earthquake was recorded in the East Bay on Sunday night, June 8, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The earthquake occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m., with the epicenter located near the shoreline of Pinole Shores Park in the San Francisco Bay Area.The quake’s epicenter was approximately one mile from the city of Pinole and registered at a depth of 9.4 kilometers (about 5.84 miles). The USGS classified the earthquake as a preliminary magnitude 3.4 event.

Tremors from the earthquake were reportedly felt in San Pablo, Martinez, and other communities throughout the East Bay region. There have been no immediate reports of damage or injuries associated with the earthquake.
