A young police officer from Florida was shot dead while serving a warrant in Polk City. The Sheriff’s office confirmed that the deputy, aged 21, was shot early morning on Tuesday in Foxtown South, Polk City, and succumbed to the wounds.
The young deputy was taken to the Lakeland Regional Medical Center after being shot around 3:15 am. However, the officer failed to recover. Polk County Sheriff Gardy Jud said that four deputies were on duty to serve a warrant to the suspect for failure to appear before the authorities over charges of felony meth. The suspect was inside a trailer, and the four officers entered it before firing broke out.
