2022 FIFA World Cup: Morocco supporters left devastated as Doha flights cancelled last-minute

Royal Air Maroc, the national airline of Morocco, promised that seven more flights would fly before the anticipated France versus Morocco semi-final. This decision was taken after Morocco's football association planned to give out thirteen thousand free tickets to the fans.

On December 14, the Qatari officials cancelled all the extra flights.

Many Moroccan fans were left heartbroken as the flights are now cancelled. They cannot travel to Qatar to witness the FIFA World Cup semi-final.

Royal Air Maroc stated to the Reuters news agency that the Qatari airport authorities had imposed restrictions which is why the extra flights are now cancelled. They deeply regret this situation.



Qatari authorities have offered no explanation or reason for this order. The central communication of the government has yet to respond to this decision.

Initially, the Royal Air Maroc promised that thirty new flights would fly for the France and Morocco semi-final to encourage the fans to go to Qatar. But the travel agencies only agreed to seven flights.
