2022 FIFA World Cup: Didier Deschamps refuses to talk about Karim Benzema's availability in Argentina vs France

France's national football team manager Didier Deschamps has declined to comment on the queries regarding Karim Benzema's return to the squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup final.

Karim Benzema had returned from Qatar after suffering a thigh injury ahead of France's World Cup opener. However, the talks of Benzema's return started doing rounds after some reports worded that Karim Benzema had begun training with Real Madrid.




While expressing his discontentment over repeated media queries, Didie Deschamps stated that after the injuries of Karim Benzema and Lucas Hernandez, the French squad was reduced to 24 players, and it was not fair on these players "to ask about others."

Some reports have also suggested that France's President Emanuel Macron, who will be at the stadium to watch the final, may bring Karim Benzema and other players like Paul Pogba and N'Golo Kante with him.

Didie Deschamps, however, refused to be drawn into the debate. "I don't know who is coming to watch the game and I am not interested in that. I lost three players at the start and now I am focusing on the 24 players we have," he said.

In the FIFA World Cup 2022, France reached the final despite losing key players like Benzema, N'Golo Kante, and Paul Pogba at the start of the tournament.

France has also become the second country in the 92 years of FIFA World Cup history to reach back-to-back finals.

Meanwhile, five French players missed the training session on December 16 after falling ill. These players are Ibrahima Konate, Raphael Varane, Adrien Rabiot, Dayot Upamecano, and Kingsley Coman.
France will face Argentina in the World Cup final on December 18.
