Christmas season is incomplete without watching some rom-com movies. 'The Holiday' is a favourite Christmas movie, and now cinema-goers are in for a treat. The sequel is set to head into production in 2023, as per reports.

The sequel of the popular romantic movie, The Holiday, is being planned 17 years after the premier of the original film.

The new film is anticipated to examine the romances between Cameron Diaz, 50, Jude Law, 49, Kate Winslet, 47, and Jack Black, 53.

'The Holiday' 2006 Film

During the holiday season, the two ladies trade residences, with Iris staying in Amanda's luxurious Los Angeles apartment and Amanda retreating to Iris' country getaway.


Both are searching for a change of pace in their lives following traumatic breakups, but they wind up falling in love with one other's worlds. Amanda falls for Iris' brother Graham, and Iris falls for Amanda's coworker, Miles.

The film's budget was £70 million, but it grossed more than £200 million at the box office.

The Sequel

A film insider stated that the goal is to start rolling on scenes next year, mainly in Britain and Europe, but the big talent is all on board.
