Episode Count

1923 Season 2 will have eight episodes, the same as Season 1. Originally, the show was planned as a single season. However, creator Taylor Sheridan decided to extend the story. He realized that more time was needed to complete the narrative. Paramount agreed to split the series into two parts.

Sheridan explained that he did not plan the entire story in advance. He contacted the network to request more episodes to conclude the story properly. The show was then divided into two sets of eight episodes.

Plot

Season 2 follows the struggles of the Dutton family. Jacob and Cara Dutton are trying to pay off Donald Whitfield’s taxes to keep their ranch. Meanwhile, Spencer and Alexandra are on separate journeys toward Montana.

The official synopsis states that Spencer must overcome obstacles to return home and protect his family. Alexandra embarks on a journey across the Atlantic to reunite with Spencer. Their goal is to reclaim their love while facing various hardships.
