'13 reasons Why' actor Tommy Dorfman makes revelation over engagement. This is what she said

Tommy Dorfman has announced that she is engaged to a woman, whose name she has not disclosed. Last summer, the actor, who came across as transgender said that her heartthrob is a woman, who is just as “gay” as one can be.

Dorfman had been married to Peter Zurkuhlen for 5 years and sought a divorce this year in February.

Tommy explained that she started seeing women differently since her divorce and that she didn’t feel anything like it all these years.


She pledged that she would henceforth date women and be with women and not be ashamed of it in any way.

Tommy Dorfman is popular for her role as Ryan Shaver in “13 reasons Why”.



She won the GLAAD award as the Rising Star in 2017. Tommy came forward as a binary in 2017 and started using “they” pronouns. In 2021, she came out as a transgender person and started using 'she' pronouns.

It took Dorfman a year to come out about her sexuality, declare that she lived like a trans woman for a year, and then come out publicly about it.

She feels that it is so wonderful to be regarded for what she is as she had spent nine years in a relationship with a gay man as a male-bodied gay.

She still loves her ex-husband, but as a transwoman, she is more comfortable being with another woman than a gay man.

Tommy Dorfman is glad that she changed her hormones and has been feeling the joy of living no end.

She says she spent 28 years of her life as a man feeling depressed and addicted to drugs and alcohol. Now, she feels genuinely happy that she has made the change and started leading a life that she is proud of this past year.
