Nearly 10 months after he suffered a cardiac arrest during a nationally televise game, Buffalo Bills' Damar Hamlin returned to Cincinnati on Sunday night.

In January, the 25-year-old collapsed in the Bills-Bengals “Monday Night Football” matchup at Paycor Stadium with the crucial Week 17 game being declared a no contest.

The Bills' safety, who is now cleared play, was not on an active roster for Sunday night. He,however, played against Miami Dolphins on October 1, where Buffalo's defeated the AFC East 48-20 in the Week 4 action.


Hamlin has shown great regard for Bills’ medical team and Cincinnati's first responders in Cincinnati who saved his life.

His foundation, Hamlin's Chasing M's Foundation, also announced a new scholarship program that will award scholarships to the underserved in names of 10 people who were played a key role in his care in Cincinnati. The Damar Hamlin's Cincinnati Heroes Scholarship would aid needy high school and college-bound students who wish to attend Greater Cincinnati-area private high schools, trade schools or Cincinnati-area universities.

"I'm humbled by the opportunity to set up a scholarship program to honor this team of professionals -- my Cincinnati heroes -- who helped save my life on January 2," the 25-year-old said in a statement. "I created this scholarship program to recognize each of them for what they have done for me, while also lifting up kids in underserved communities who are in need of some support as they look to go to a private high school, trade school or on to college."

The Chasing M's Foundation has committed to funding scholarships over a three-year span, providing $1,000, one in the name of each of the 10 people, with the first round of scholarships scheduled for distribution in 2024.

Raising awareness about CPR & AED
Hamlin, who now understands the severity of this medical emergency, has started a mission to raise awareness about CPR and AED. The 25-year-old has held CPR tours in different cities to educate people about hands-on CPR. Most recently, the Bills star conducted a CPR Tour in Cincinnati. He has also helEarlier, the Bills conducted similar tours in New York, Orchard Park,and in Pittsburgh.
