According to a BBC report, Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves has confirmed the shooting incident and said 22 people were struck by gunfire, one of whom died. Graves also said that guns were recovered at the scene. Police have not announced the charge.

Officials of the local hospitals said they were also treating people who were not shot, but who had suffered other injuries in the sudden stampede that followed the shooting.
