US judge dismisses rendition suit against Boeing subsidiary
A federal judge has tossed out a lawsuit accusing a Boeing Co. subsidiary of illegally helping the CIA secretly fly terrorism suspects to overseas prisons to be tortured.
US District Court Judge James Ware in San Francisco on Wednesday ruled that national security could be jeopardized if the lawsuit were allowed to go forward.
CIA Director Michael Hayden had earlier urged the judge to dismiss the lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union against Jeppesen Dataplan Inc. because he said that covert operations overseas could be exposed.
