Universal ends distribution talks with DreamWorks

Universal Pictures says it has ended talks with DreamWorks on their pending distribution deal, saying Steven Spielberg's studio has ``demanded material changes to previously agreed upon terms.''

LOS ANGELES: Universal Pictures says it has ended talks with DreamWorks on their pending distribution deal, saying Steven Spielberg's studio has ``demanded material changes to previously agreed upon terms.''

``It is clear that DreamWorks' needs and Universal's business interests are no longer in alignment,'' Universal says.

DreamWorks SKG agreed to a deal with Universal in October 2008 after the studio parted ways with Viacom Inc. subsidiary Paramount Pictures, which previously distributed DreamWorks' films.
