Will Ellen DeGeneres regret her decision to relocate to England from sunny California? Here's why she could

Ellen DeGeneres' transition from sunny California to England's Cotswolds has not been without challenges.

When Ellen DeGeneres' farmhouse was being extended, the heiress gave her a cold reception in the Cotswolds due to a planning conflict.

Having surf, sunshine, and wineries back in California, along with Harry and Meghan as neighbours, she decided to sell her house for £25.6 million and move to the UK following Donald Trump's election victory last year.

Does Ellen DeGeneres now question her choice?

The retired chat show host is in danger of falling out with heiress Rosie Pearson, the youngest of the late Viscount Cowdray's six children, just a few weeks after returning to Montecito.

Did Ellen violate any planning rules?

Ellen is accused of committing a "technical breach" when she added a one-story addition to the farmhouse in the Cotswolds where she and her spouse, Ally McBeal star Portia de Rossi, who turned 52 yesterday, currently reside, as quoted in a report by The Daily Mail.

In June, Ellen paid £15 million for the property, which was about £2.5 million more than the asking price.
The suggested work may seem ordinary. However, Rosie, 65, and three other parish council members were concerned that it might disturb Roman remains, so they called the local planning enforcement officers.

According to a note from the parish council minutes, "the onus is on the owner to report any historic remains uncovered."

Residents expressed concern that the hedge and wire fence could increase flood risk in the village if trash was swept away and caught on the fence, potentially limiting flow across the field, it continues, as quoted in a report by The Daily Mail.

Ellen, who retired last year following a difficult time during which she was accused of fostering a "toxic" environment on-set, may have wished for a softer embrace in the Cotswolds, where residents include Jeremy Clarkson, Kate Moss, and occasionally the Beckhams.
