Jody Miller, a Grammy-winning country singer, has died at the age of 80. The "Queen of the House" singer died on Thursday, October 6, in Blanchard, Oklahoma, from Parkinson's disease complications.

Miller was first diagnosed with the disease seven years ago. Miller's daughter Robin Brook and her band Middle-Sister Music confirmed the news on their Facebook page.

Middle Sister said in a post that Jody Miller, the music legend and mother of Robin Brooks, died this morning. It also begged that everyone consider the family as they suffer this terrible loss.

Miller was born in Phoenix, Arizona in 1941 and raised in Los Angeles before moving to Blanchard to live with her grandmother after her parents split.

Following her debut as a folk and pop singer, Western actor Dale Robertson recommended Miller to Capitol Records, which published her first album in 1964.

Her hit singles included "Queen of the House", "Let's All Go Down to the River" and "Home of the Brave". She was Oklahoma's first Grammy winner for Best Female Country Vocal Performance in 1966.
