Prince William and Prince Harry's former bodyguard, Graham Craker, has died at the age of 77. Craker worked as their bodyguard when their mother, Princess Diana, died in a car crash in 1997.

He was fondly called 'Crackers' by the young brothers, The Sun reported.

Who was Graham Craker?

Craker served in the UK's Metropolitan Police for 35 years, besides working as the bodyguard for Britain's royal family for 15 years. He officially retired in 2001.

On September 6, 1997, Craker walked next to the Prince of Wales and Duke of Sussex behind Princess Diana's hearse. It made its way from St James’s Palace to Westminster Abbey for her funeral. Later on, he was even seen sitting in front of the hearse that carried her to Althorp House.

Back then, William was 15 years old, while his younger brother Harry was just 12. Their mother died in a fatal car crash in France's Paris.

Before this, Craker was even seen with the family, including Diana and the two princes, when she took them to Alton Towers back in April 1994.

As per Sky News, Craker spent most of his recent years with organisations like Southern Maltings art center. He hailed from East Hertfordshire in Ware.

Sharing a photograph of Craker on Facebook, the charity called him a "friend and colleague".

It stated that Craker remained a part of it "almost from the very beginning, and has been behind our bar for the whole of that time, making sure everyone has the best of times."

Further, it noted that he was their only volunteer to have "a set of keys to the building," highlighting how much they "trusted and respected" him.
