In 1998, when the iconic movie Titanic was released Kate Winslet won millions of hearts, and now her daughter Mia Threapleton along with her mom has enthralled the audience in a major role.

Kate has co-written the drama ‘I am Ruth’, and the actor along with her real-life daughter Mia has starred in the hard-hitting series. The series went on air on Channel 4 on Thursday.

The drama revolves around the mother-daughter story, wherein Kate, who portrays the role of Ruth, tries to help her daughter Freya, who is played by Mia, as she experiences a mental health crisis due to the demands of social media.

Back in 1998, Kate met Mia's father Jim Threapleton, who worked as an assistant director on the sets of Hideous Kinky. The movie was released in the same year, and Kate and Jim tied the knot at Kate's elementary school in Reading, and two years later their daughter was born. However, in 2001, the couple parted ways, and Kate once called their marriage a 'mess'.
