Who is Gordon Smart? Meet new Scottish 'Good Morning Britain' host on ITV

In the most recent episode of the ITV daytime program, a newcomer joins Charlotte Hawkins; she will return tomorrow, December 30, while the show's usual hosts Kate Garraway, Ben Shephard, and Susanna Reid take a break for the holiday season. Gordon Smart, a newcomer, expressed his excitement to be a part of Good Morning Britain and stated that he is happy to be joining the wonderful stable of talent, in front of and behind the camera. Award-winning writer and editor Gordon Smart are well-known in the media industry. He has presented programs on BBC Radio Scotland, talkSport, Weekend Breakfast (BBC Radio 5 Live), and his own program on Radio X.

The Edinburgh native, 42, who was named "showbiz reporter of the year in 2012", went on to become editor of the Scottish Sun before being named deputy editor of the National Edition in 2016. As the youngest editor of The Sun's Bizarre Showbiz section, Smart achieved significant success even at the age of 26.


He is also recognized for being present when a chopper crashed in Glasgow's Clutha pub in 2013, killing ten people.



At six in the morning on December 29, Gordon Smart debuted in his new position as a presenter on "Good Morning Britain". On Friday, December 30, he will make a comeback after co-hosting a GMB presentation with Charlotte Hawkins.
