Images of Britain’s latest banknotes made with the portrait of King Charles III have been released.

However, all the earlier notes featuring the Queen will still be used as legal tender. The rollout process will be gradual as The Royal Household has requested the new notes to be only used as a replacement for damaged notes or to meet demand increases.
King Charles III's portrait used in the note was initially supplied by The Palace in 2013, but minor adjustments have been made over the years to replicate his aging. However, there will be no changes to the figures featured on the obverse of the notes. They are Alan Turning, JMW Turner, Jane Austen, and Winston Churchill in descending order of value. The color scheme and pattern will remain the same as the ones introduced in 2017 with the switch to polymer banknotes.
King Charles III will become the second monarch in Britain’s history to feature on the paper currency note. The first was his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, when her portrait appeared on the £1 paper note in 1960.
