When are the next National Rail train strikes? Know November 2022 dates here

As the conflict over pay and working conditions continues, the Rail, Maritime, and Transport (RMT) union has declared three further days of nationwide rail strikes in November. The union accused National Rail of performing a "radical U-turn" regarding promises of a wage raise.

Since the summer, industrial action has delayed rail services, and there is little indication that the impasse will end before the holiday season.

The RMT has scheduled a new series of nationwide strikes for November 5th, 7th, and 9th.


During national RMT strikes, around 40,000 employees from more than a dozen operators routinely walk off the job, paralyzing the rail network. On strike days, less than one-fifth of trains operated.

Most operators will suspend service entirely or drastically decrease it, with trains beginning and terminating later.

Some operators joining the strike are Avanti West Coast, C2C, LNER, GTR, Southeastern, Greater Anglia, etc.



Transport for London (TfL) reports that the strike on November 3 will impact the Tube, London Overground, Elizabeth Line, and national rail services.

National Rail stated that the rail industry is working diligently to minimize the impact on particular dates, but it is unavoidable that service disruptions will occur. Services may also begin later on days after a strike.

Smaller rail strikes have also been organized, like the Avanti West Coast RMT members will strike on November 6 over rosters. The RMT-represented ScotRail workers will strike on October 29. London Underground and Overground members will strike on November 10.
