Tottenham assistant manager Cristian Stellini has lauded Pape Matar Sarr as a “great player” after the latter starred late for the club at Hotspur Way. Even Antonio Conte was left impressed by Sarr ahead of the Premier League’s return. The Senegal ace left a mark off the bench in Spurs’ last two games against Aston Villa and Crystal Palace.

Now, Sarr could be in line to get more minutes in Tottenham’s FA Cup third round against Portsmouth set to take place on Saturday afternoon. While speaking ahead of the FA Cup fixture of the Spurs, Stellini replied to a question by football.london about Sarr.



Hailing his addition to the club in 2021, Stellini said that he had been working on body position with Sarr. The Italian football coach then went on to laud the “very young player”. He went on to say that with Sarr, it was Antonio who decided that the former is ready and has improved a lot in training.

Stellini also said that they worked “a lot on body position” and there are many other skills that Starr has to improve. According to Tottenham assistant coach, Starr showed a desire to improve and it is “very important” for them.
