Royal Mail employees will join train workers and driving examiners on strike as the country's wave of industrial action this month intensifies.

The nationwide disruption, which began on Tuesday with a 48-hour rail strike, will be amplified on Wednesday when postal employees go on strike as well. Only one out of every five trains is scheduled to run. There will be no Christmas cards distributed. There's also no indication of thawing in the dispute between employees and employers.

Services like mail delivery and health care will be affected by strikes from now until February. Here are some of the strikes that are going to happen today, December 14-

Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union workers on Network Rail and 14 train operators are still on strike for 48 hours.


Members of the Transport Salaried Staffs' Association (TSSA) at Avanti West Coast have also walked out.

Another countrywide strike will be called by Royal Mail employees.

The DVSA strike in Scotland and Northern Ireland continues.
