Former health secretary Matt Hancock has announced that he would not run for the Conservatives in the upcoming election. Hancock stated in a letter to the Prime Minister that he wants to do things differently. He has uncovered a new universe of possibilities that he is eager to investigate - new methods for interacting with people of various ages and ethnicities.

He stated that he is looking forward to pushing causes close to his heart, such as more help for dyslexic children who receive a poor education. Mr Hancock's spokeswoman afterwards clarified that he had no plans to run again.
