Waterloo Road: As award winning series is all set for return, a look at where earlier cast members are today

The award-winning series will return to BBC One on Tuesday, January 3 from 8 pm to 9 pm, with episodes broadcast on TV each week and the entire season accessible to watch on BBC iPlayer.

Waterloo Road, award-winning series, is back for a revival season over eight years after it was canceled the BBC's popular school-based drama aired from 2006 to 2015 before being canceled, much to the chagrin of many fans is all set to return.

The award-winning series will return to BBC One on Tuesday, January 3 from 8 pm to 9 pm, with episodes broadcast on TV each week and the entire season accessible to watch on BBC iPlayer.

The BBC announced in September 2021 that the drama, which is shot and set in Greater Manchester, will return with a reworked season involving some original cast members and notable figures joining the program for the first time.


After 200 episodes over nine years, the doors of Waterloo Road eventually slammed shut, so it is a pleasant surprise for its fans to learn the BBC is bringing the drama back.

Angela Griffin, Adam Thomas, and Katie Griffiths, among others, will return for the upcoming series, as will newcomer Kym Marsh.

Jason Done, Tom Clarkson

Jason Done has since starred in Casualty, Vera, and the Netflix original The Innocents. He most recently starred as a prison guard in the BBC prison drama Time, where he was in charge of checking Sean Bean in and out of jail.

Phoebe Dynevor - Siobhan Mailey

Phoebe later appeared in the BBC drama Prisoners' Wives, Dickensian, The Musketeers, and the TV adaptation of Snatch. Her big break came last year as the Bridgerton family's eldest daughter, Daphne. Phoebe featured in a few episodes of the second series while dating US comedian Pete Davidson. Her next endeavor is the Netflix film Bank of Dave, which comes out later this month.

Philip Martin Brown - Grantly Budgen

Philip Martin Brown, the man behind the character Grantly Budgen, went on to feature in major motion pictures such as Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and Darkest Hour. He was also Steve McDonald's therapist in two Coronation Street episodes in 2015.

Chelsee Healey - Janeece Bryant Actress

Angela left to focus on her daytime talk show, Angela and Friends and has acted in films such as Mount Pleasant, Ordinary Lies, and White Lines.
