The difficult times in the UK seem to have extended to the New Year. The strikes that commenced in December posed serious problems for the country at large.
From nurses to railway staff, from bus drivers in London to border force agents and teachers, inter alia, went on major strikes. The majority of workers in the UK seem to be in a tussle with the governmental authorities over pay and rigid working conditions.
These strikes commenced with the beginning of the current economic crisis in the UK. Several workers like bus drivers, airport staff, teachers, nurses, border force agents, postal workers, G4S employees, driving examiners, security personnel and highway workers have taken to the streets to strike. Their demands range from equitable pay to having appropriate and flexible working hours.
