UK to host Eurovision 2023: Check dates, how to get tickets

This year, the UK will be hosting Eurovision Song Contest, as the winner of 2022 contest, Ukraine, is unable to host amid Russia-Ukraine war. Sam Ryder who bagged the second prize for "Space Man" led to this opportunity.

Due to ongoing conflict in Ukraine, the UK will host instead of Ukraine, which was originally scheduled to host.

Mykola Chernotytskyi, managing board head of the broadcaster, said the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest will be held in support of Ukraine, however, not in Ukraine. He shows gratitude to BBC partners for their show of solidarity.


UK Eurovision fans can finally attend the show without traveling abroad since 1998. The host city for Eurovision 2023 was announced on BBC's The One Show by Graham Norton as Liverpool, beating Glasgow. Previous UK host cities include Birmingham (1998), London, Edinburgh, and Brighton.

This year’s Eurovision Song Contest starts on May 9, 2023 and goes through finale, which is scheduled to take place on May 13, 2023.

Eurovision Song Contest 2023: Tickets

There’s no information on Eurovision 2023, however, we could get an idea looking at Eurovision 2022 tickets, which went on sale on April 7, 2022, prior to the first jury show on May 9, with options for nine events including semi-finals and the final.

Again, Eurovision 2023 ticket prices have not been disclosed yet. In 2022, ticket prices varied by event and category. Final tickets cost €150 to €350, family show tickets cost €40 to €150, and jury show/semi-final tickets cost €20 to €250. Buyers were limited to 4 tickets per show and required to provide personal information.
