Rishi Sunak, the Prime Minister of Britain, arrived in Kyiv to pledge support for Ukraine in the ongoing war and provide military and humanitarian aid.

Britain Prime Minister Rishi Sunak arrived in Kyiv and demonstrated his strong relationship with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, with whom he spoke immediately after taking over as UK PM. The Prime Minister was seen shaking hands with Zelensky in a snowy Kyiv as he made his stand against the Russians in the war imposed on Ukraine. During the G20 meeting, Rishi Sunak stressed that Putin and his troops should leave Ukraine now.

The Prime Minister visited the war memorial in Ukraine, laid a wreath for those, who sacrificed their lives for the country, and lit a candle at the Holodomor memorial for famine victims. He also visited a fire station, met with the first responders, and thanked them for their support. He stressed that though Russia was being pushed back firmly by the Ukrainian defense personnel on land, the Russian Air Force was bombing civilians from the air. The United Kingdom decided to give defense aid of £ 50 million along with fighter planes, anti-aircraft guns, radars and anti-drone equipment.
