As additional charges of bullying against Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab have been made, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has been obliged to stand up for Dominic Raab, the deputy prime minister. The former permanent secretary at the Foreign Office Simon McDonald responded in the affirmative when asked if Dominic Raab could credibly be described as someone who could bully and around whom bullying happens. McDonald also claimed that Dominic Raab is one of the most motivated guys he has ever worked for and called him a demanding boss.

On the flight to the G20 Summit in Indonesia, however, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak defended his deputy vehemently, saying that he doesn't accept that depiction of Dominic Raab and he is not aware of any formal complaints about him. He further added that there are established channels for federal servants to use if they want to report problems. He also stated that he is not aware of any official complaints being made against Dominic.
