UK minister Gavin Williamson receives flak from Grant Shapps over 'threats' to Wendy Morton
UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is under pressure to act amidst reports that his minister Gavin Williamson has threatened a Tory MP, Wendy Morton, regarding an "invitation to the Queen's funeral."

The texts were related to Williamson not getting an invite to the Queen Elizabeth II's funeral despite being an ex-Chief Whip during Theresa May's leadership. Williamson is a minister in the current cabinet but without a portfolio.
The minister had threatened Wendy Morton with consequences for every action in his texts without naming what he would do.
Grant Shapps has informed Sky News that such messages had been written under the influence of anger and that this type of message should be avoided. With people who are in the government and amongst colleagues, it is better to use polite language and not express derogatory words. It is better not to use language one would regret later.
In the meantime, Liberal Democrats and the Labour Party have immediately called for ousting of Gavin Williamson.
Gavin Williamson has often used the abusive word on Wendy Morton, complaining about the favouritism she indulged in.
Rishi Sunak said he had not seen Williamson's messages to Wendy Morton before; however, the party is looking into the matter.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak also sided with Williamson, saying that he apologised to Morton; however, he would await the party's report on this complaint.
