UK hotel where Cerys Yemm ‘lost life’ gets sold for £270,000

Sirhowy Arms Hotel in Bargoed, which witnessed a horrific scene of Matthew Williams allegedly killing and trying to eat Cerys Yemm, has been sold for a whopping £270,000 despite its horrific past, media reports said. Williams (34) had got 22-year-old Yemm into the hotel in South Wales, where he allegedly killed and tried to eat her flesh, it added.

According to the hotel owner, Mandy Miles, the cannibal was a drug addict, and at the time of the crime, he didn't know what he had done. Miles had no information that Williams had been released from prison two weeks prior to the incident. On entering the room, she found Williams bent over the lifeless body of Yemm, lying in a pool of blood. Williams didn't even look up and acknowledge her presence when asked what he had done. A police officer tasered Matthew among the responders to Mandy's distress call. When the officers were in William's room, she remained downstairs and didn't allow anyone to enter the rooms. It wasn't until three hours later that Mandy learned the killer had died, the reports said.




The new buyers of the hotel were informed about the past; nonetheless, they made a good offer. Despite its horrific past, the hotel sold for £270,000, way above the asking rate of £250,000. The killer was tasered four times by the police and was high on drugs when he died. Dying due to struggle was one of the causes mentioned in the inquest report. Yemm had died from 89 injuries to her body and also due to the trauma of her skin being cut.
