The first minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon has warned that the UK is in the grip of an economic crisis that may be the worst in memory. Nicola Sturgeon has also highlighted key factors.

The Bank of England's intervention indicates that the UK is in the grip of a "deteriorating economic crisis" that could be worse than the global financial crash of 2008.

The tax cut fallout after the Chancellor’s announcement last week is unprecedented.


MPs should cut short their recess and return to Parliament.

She also called for the government to reverse the tax cuts on the biggest earners to bring more sense to the system.

Last week, Chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng announced a mini-budget. The Bank of England also warned of the risk of economic instability if the volatility continued and announced that it would buy government bonds quickly to restore "orderly market conditions." He plans to cancel the 45% additional tax payable by people earning over £150,000 per annum and lower the basic tax rate to 19% from 20% next April.
