Top Gear's former presenter Sue Baker dies at 67 after suffering motor neuron disease

A popular presenter on the BBC network, Sue Baker, died after a prolonged battle with motor neuron disease. Her family shared the news of her passing, stating that she died at home surrounded by her loved ones.

TV presenter Sue Baker is a household name for those who were fans of the "Top Gea" show in the 1980s. She was a presenter on the show from 1980 to 1991 and was much loved by her fans. The noted writer, broadcaster, and editor died at 67 following a prolonged battle with Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

Sue Baker's family paid tribute to her, stating that she was a doting mother and a loving grandmother. They complimented Sue as a prolific and talented writer, an animal lover, and a charming TV presenter.

The family talked about her career, remarking that Sue did everything with so much grace that everybody loved and admired her. They also thanked everyone who supported Baker in her fight with her illness.


On the work front, Sue Baker was the former motoring editor of the renowned newspaper, "The Observer". She also acted as a Vice-President of the ‘Guild of Motoring Writers’.

With her love for cars stemming from her childhood, Sue’s early career involved running a motor racing news service.

Sue Baker is survived by her family, which includes her two children, Hannah and Ian, two grandsons, George and Tom, and a daughter-in-law Lucy.
