Tom Cruise is likely on the guest list for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. The actor shares a strong bond with Prince Williams, the elder son of King Charles III, and was also present at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Superstar Tom Cruise may be on the guest list for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, which is scheduled to happen on September 9.

According to media reports, Tom Cruise has expressed with senior members of the British monarchy about attending the funeral, which is most likely to occur on September 19.

Queen Elizabeth II was the longest reigning British monarch who ascended to the throne after her father, King George VI, died on February 6, 1952. Her reign of 70 years and 212 days was the longest in history by any female head of the state.


The deceased Queen will be succeeded by her eldest son, Prince Charles of Wales, who will now be officially known as King Charles III.

Following the Queen’s demise, seven-day mourning began in the United Kingdom on Friday, after King Charles returned to England from his mother’s deathbed in Scotland.

However, the mourning was left for personal discretion, with no obligation to cancel or postpone events.

Following his ascension to the throne, King Charles made his elder son Prince William and his wife, Catherine, the Prince and Princess of Wales. Likewise, Anne, Princess Royal, the only daughter of the deceased Queen, will also be receiving new responsibilities as her brother steps up to head the monarchy.

Tom Cruise and Prince William share a strong bond, which has deepened in recent years. In May, William and his wife were also present at the royal premiere of Tom’s latest movie, Top Gun: Maverick. Later, Tom Cruise was also invited to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, which took place in the first week of June.

The 59-year-old actor’s latest movie has been a massive success, making over $1.442 billion worldwide. Tom Cruise also received positive essential reception, with many reviewers terming the sequel to Top Gun (1986) better than the original. The American actor will be next seen in the two-part edition of the Mission: Impossible series, Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning, which is expected to hit the theatres in July 2023.
