This England teaser is out. Oscar-winning actor Sir Kenneth Branagh plays Boris Johnson

Oscar-winning actor Sir Kenneth Branagh has transformed himself into former British Prime Minister Borish Johnson for upcoming TV drama "This England" which will be premiered in September.

With the help of a punch adding several stones in weight and a wild sandy wig, Branagh has made the transformation looks almost real.

The trailer of "This England" has been released. In the trailer, one could see the actor playing Boris Johnson relaxing with his wife Carrie on a speed boat. Ophelia Lovibond performs the character of Mr Johnson's wife.


The TV series is a recreation of Boris Johnson's life at No 10, especially the first few months of his coming to the office as PM.

In one trailer scene, Mr Johnson could greet well-wishers and then march into Downing street. Another scene shows Sir Kenneth as the now departing PM, 58, snuggling with his wife Carrie on a sofa while clasping a glass of red wine.

Another footage shows Sir Kenneth portraying Boris in April 2020 while battling Covid in hospital. It shows the PM breathing through a mask while sitting in a wheelchair- and addressing the nation through a press conference amid the pandemic.
In the TV drama, the controversial adviser Dominic Cummings is played by Simon Paisley Day, while Shri Patel portrays the character of chancellor Rishi Saunak. The TV series will be premiered on September 21.

According to the broadcaster, the series carries us inside of "a controversial personal and political life" of Johnson when he was grappling with "Covid-19, Brexit". They also added that events shown in the series are "interwoven with stories" where you'll see "doctors, nurses and care-home workers working tirelessly" to contain and overpower the virus.
