Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has expressed her desire for her young children, four-year-old Prince Archie and two-year-old Princess Lilibet, to take up skiing in the future. While Meghan herself isn't a skier, she envisions her kids participating in the upcoming Invictus Games scheduled for Canada in 2025.

In a conversation with Bridget Bridge, the wife of an IG25 board member, Meghan shared her aspiration. Bridget Bridge recounted Meghan's words to The Mirror, stating, "Meghan said that she really wanted her children to learn to ski and that maybe Whistler was the ideal place. She said she didn't ski, so we told her they must come and learn."

Skiing has a longstanding tradition within the royal family, with members like Prince William and Princess Kate known for their interest in the sport. Notably, the Prince and Princess of Wales, well-versed in skiing, frequented the Courchevel ski resort in the French Alps.

Princess Diana was also an avid skier, often visiting skiing destinations like Liechtenstein and Klosters in Switzerland. She introduced her sons, Harry and William, to the activity, and it is believed they honed their skills through these experiences. Tragically, Princess Diana passed away in a car accident in Paris's Pont de L'Alma tunnel on August 31, 1997.

In a separate development, Prince Harry has reportedly faced a protocol requirement for his visit to the UK. When he sought royal accommodation and security for a September 7 charity event, the 2023 WellChild Awards, in West London, his request was denied due to unavailability of properties in Windsor or London. Harry, who has been residing in Montecito, California, with his wife Meghan Markle and their two children since stepping down as royals in 2020, was left without a royal room.

The refusal has now led to new requirements for Prince Harry. If he plans to stay at Windsor Castle during his visit to the UK in January, he will need to provide "suitable warning," as reported by The Telegraph. Additionally, Buckingham Palace has informed him that he must submit a "formal request" if he intends to visit his father, King Charles.
