'The Crown' season 5: Who is Diana's biographer Andrew Morton and who plays him in Netflix series?
Everything you need to know about Andrew Steele who plays a major role in season 5 episode 2 which focuses on Andrew Morton’s big exposé surrounding Diana.

Andrew Morton is played by actor Andrew Steele, who has done roles in Outlander and Bad Sisters recently. If you have been observant, you may know that he appears in episode 1 of season 5 too.
Andrew Morton is a journalist and writer notably famous for writing biographies of celebrities and famous figures, including Meghan Markle, Prince William, and Tom Cruise. He published a tell-all biography of the Princess of Wales entitled Diana: Her True Story in 1992. There are hugely controversial parts in the book which speak of Diana’s unhappy childhood, how she felt ignored by the royal family, her struggles with bulimia (a disorder where a person may have episodes of overeating, binging and a feeling of loss of control. It is more prevalent among women than men), self harm and attempts at suicide.
Andrew first denied Diana’s involvement with the book, saying his sources comprised her friends and close acquaintances. That led many to dismiss the biography as fiction. After Diana’s death in an accident, Morton changed stance, revealing that Diana was closely involved and republished it under the title Diana: Her True Story - In Her Own Words.
According to Morton he gave his questions to Diana’s close friend James Colthurst, who he had met in 1986. Following which, Colthurst then conducted six taped interviews with her at Kensington Palace.
