'The Crown' actor Dominic West reveals why he's no longer in touch with Prince Harry

In a recent interview, actor Dominic West, who plays King Charles III in "The Crown," revealed why he and Prince Harry aren't friends anymore. West said they lost touch after he said too much in a press conference about an event they attended together in Antarctica around 2014.

During the interview, West mentioned that a year after their joint charity event, he was asked about what they did, and he might have shared more than he should have. This led to a silence between them that has lasted for over a decade, making it impossible for West to seek advice from Harry on playing his character in "The Crown."

“We sort of lost touch because I said too much in a press conference, and so, we didn’t speak after that,” the “Crown” actor said.


Interestingly, West also recently shared that he advised his son not to play young Prince William in the show's Season 6 due to discomfort with the storyline.

“I didn’t really fancy doing the scene at Balmoral Castle, telling a boy his mother has died,” Dominic said, adding that his son did a “great” job playing teenage William in the previous season.

On the other hand, Prince Harry has mentioned watching "The Crown" and seems more at ease with how the show portrays his family compared to other portrayals in the media.
