The Beatles’ seventh album 'Revolver': All you need to know about the latest entry into Giles Martin series of remixes

Revolver by The Beatles was nothing less than a dynamic game-changer in the history of music. From the legendary Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967) to the iconic Let It Be and Abbey Road, the studio album by Beatles was people’s favourite genre.

The Beatles retired from live performances just a month after the release of the legendary album Revolver. The album is known to kick down the counterculture of the 60s.

Giles Martin, the son of the beloved producer of the band Beatles- George, released a new version of the songs. He remixed and remastered most of the songs from the album, including Lonely Hearts Club Band and The White Album.


Giles Martin revealed that he had planned to remix the songs but was struck with an obstacle. Giles Martin finally completed the remaster after he overcame it via the documentary Get Back, the famous documentary of Peter Jackson.

Giles Martin said that while he was working on the documentary, he managed to develop his de-mix technology to separate multiple tracks. He termed it a ‘technological breakdown’.

Giles Martin added that remixing Revolver was tricky for him. The instrumental tracks were squashed with old recording equipment, and the imprecise sound made it more formidable than any of his old projects.
