Tesco to introduce massive changes to UK stores impacting 2,100 jobs
Tesco has announced plan for a massive shake-up in management and close hot counters which would affect around 2,100 jobs.

The UK’s biggest grocer also said that it had started rolling out a brand new management structure in 350 of its superstores which are comparatively small in the last two years. In a statement published on its official website, Tesco said that it is now extending this structure across its larger superstores as well as the Extra stores.
The ones impacted by Tesco’s change plan will have the option to move into the lower-paid shift leader roles with financial support or take redundancy. Most Tesco supermarkets will no longer be operating counters. Additionally, 350 roles will be impacted by other changes such as the closure of eight pharmacies in supermarkets, shifting overnight roles to the daytime in at least 12 stores along with reduction of some hours in some post offices.
Announcing the changes, Jason Tarry, the chief executive of Tesco UK and Ireland, said “These are difficult decisions to make” but went on to say that they were essential to ensure that the company remains focused on delivering value to their customers.
