Tennis: Last year’s Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios pulls out with injury

Last year’s men’s singles finalist Nick Kyrgios has withdrawn from Wimbledon 2023 with a wrist injury. He lost to Novak Djokovic in the finals last year.

Earlier this year, Nick bowed out of the Australian Open due to injury. He had to undergo surgery. In a post on his Instagram account, Nick Kyrgios announced his decision to pull out of the Wimbledon tournament as he had injured his writ. He also said that he tried his best to play in the championship, but injuries forced him to change his mind. Kyrgios wrote that he had a torn ligament, that cannot be cured before the Wimbledon.

Wimbledon Tournament begins today and he was scheduled to face David Goffin of Belgium in his first match. He was ranked SW19th.


Nick Kyrgio and Tansi Kokkinaki were scheduled to play their first men’s double match against Joe Salisbury and Rajeev Ram.



Wimbledon wished him a swift recovery and hoped to see him back.
