The location of the blast was at the intersection of Field Close and Clydach Road in Morriston. Wales & West Utilities stated that the structural damage to the affected property was "severe," and the property itself has been completely flattened. Residents in the area stated that they heard a loud bang that sounded like a car crash, with doors and roofs being blown off from the affected houses.

Individuals who reside on the streets have reported hearing a loud noise resembling a car collision and were informed that the houses in the area had their roofs and doors blown off.

According to Marjorie Lewis, a nearby neighbour, the roof was found on the ground and she contacted the police immediately after the incident. They arrived within two to three minutes, she added. The occurrence was very loud and caused all the houses in the vicinity to shake, she described. Ms Lewis added that about four or five houses are destructed in the blast.

The South Wales Police have urged individuals to stay away from the area, and the road has been shut down.
