Former Strictly Come Dancing head judge Len Goodman is not happy with the current standards of judging contestants' performances. He specifically singled out Craig Revel-Horwood and Shirley Ballas to be unnecessarily harsh in their judgement. Goodman's remarks came in an online media interview.

No consistency in marking

Goodman talks of Craig (one of the judges) giving seven (out of ten) to Will, one of the contestants, for Will's Paso doble performance which deserves at least nine. In comparison, Shirley (another judge) marked him seven without any reason. Goodman believes that at the semi-final stage, contestants should score at least eight; otherwise, they should not be reaching the level. Will's presentation, according to Goodman, deserved a nine or at least an eight. Goodman is also cut up with the judges frequently moving, particularly Shirley, who is always leaping up and down.
