The popular K-pop band STAYC unintentionally donned retro Glasgow Rangers football shirts instead of the Texas Rangers baseball team jerseys they had intended to wear during a show in Dallas as part of their US tour.

The mishap gained attention on social media as photos surfaced, showing two members of the girl group wearing blue Glasgow Rangers 1996-97 home shirts fashioned into crop tops.

The attire, reminiscent of the Glasgow Rangers' triumphant era, likely triggered nostalgic memories for Rangers supporters, who recall their team winning the ninth consecutive league title in that season, matching Celtic's record from 1973–74. Under the management of Walter Smith, the Glasgow Rangers also clinched the Scottish League Cup with a 4-3 victory over Hearts at Celtic Park, featuring iconic players like Paul Gascoigne, Brian Laudrup, and Ally McCoist.

The humorous incident didn't go unnoticed by fans. One Glasgow Rangers fan humorously said, "Rangers are the kings of K-pop," while another added, "As a Scottish person who supports [Rangers], this was not in my 2023 bingo card."

Similar incidents in the past
Interestingly, this isn't the first time a K-pop band has sported a Glasgow football shirt. In 2018, two members of the boy band Stray Kids were seen wearing retro Celtic shirts in the music video for their song "My Pace."
