Spotify’s Audiobooks Available in the UK
Spotify’s users in the UK will be able to listen to more than 300,000 titles that can be bought a la carte. This feature will also be available in Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland. It was rolled out in the United States last month. Spotify listeners will be able to access new titles, such as New titles on offer include Scott’s How (Not) to Be Strong autobiography (Cornerstone), Tom Felton’s memoir Beyond the Wand (Ebury), and Osman’s, The Bullet That Missed (Viking).

Nir Zichermann, vice president and global head of Audiobooks and Gated Content at Spotify, stated that the potential for audio is limitless. He also said that Spotify has been aiming to be a complete package for the listening needs of people. They see an untapped market, and audiobooks as are 6%–7% share of the larger book market. The audiobook category is growing by 20% every year. Spotify is excited to provide listeners with a great new experience for listeners; this may be an introduction to audiobooks for people who may not have been likely to try them otherwise. Spotify believes they have the chance to grow both the audiobook space and add enrichment to the listeners’ lives.
