Soap opera Neighbours aired final episode in Australia. Check out fans' reaction
Neighbours aired its final episode on Thursday, bringing back iconic characters for the very last time. Over a million Australians tuned in for the show, making it the number one show on TV on July 28.

The final episode of Neighbours marked an end of an era for Australian television. To put the curtains down, the show brought iconic characters back for one last time. Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan were back on Ramsay Street, though the duo remained silent for the most part of the episode.
However, Guy Pearce stole the show, as the Hollywood legend reprised his role as Mike for the final time, and fans loved it!
Neighbors were first aired on March 18, 1985, on Seven Network. The show maintained a steady viewership until 2010, after which it slowed considerably. The 1.2 million viewership garnered on Thursday was the show's highest since 2009.
A long-time rival of Neighbours, Home and Away, gave a shout-out to the show and tweeted that Neighbours was an iconic part of Australian TV history.
While many iconic characters returned to the show on Thursday, Craig McLachlan, who played Charlene's brother Henry, was absent. A few years ago, Craig was in the news when a group of women accused him of indecently assaulting them during The Rocky Horror Show. However, a magistrate court in Melbourne found Craig not guilty of the charges leveled against him.
A spokesperson for Craig said it was sad not to have Henry in the final episode, especially when his dead mother was reincarnated. The spokesperson added that Craig and his partner have suffered for the past four and half years, even after being acquitted of all charges. Interestingly, Craig unexpectedly withdrew the defamation case against his accusers earlier this year.
