Six women rescued from refrigerated truck in France after making distress call to BBC reporter

The six migrant women, four from Vietnam and two from Iraq were rescued from a refrigerated food truck in France. Women were trying to hide amidst boxes of bananas in the refrigerated trucks to reach the UK and Ireland.

One of the women reached out to a BBC reporter in London, seeking help to alert the authorities as she realised the truck was heading in the opposite direction. she was able to send text messages, the truck's GPS location, and short videos depicting the dire conditions inside the truck.

The distressing footage revealed the women huddled together on the truck's floor, surrounded by boxes of fruit, struggling to breathe and clearly in distress. French police swiftly launched an operation to track down and intercept the truck, which was located on a highway. An investigation into the incident has been initiated by authorities.
