Singer and songwriter Sam Fender has cancelled many of his upcoming shows and tours and announced that he has to take some time off from touring and performing. He said his decision was because he wanted to take care of his mental health and was tired from his travels.
What did Sam Fender say about the cancellation?
This twenty-eight-year-old Newcastle musician took to his Instagram to post this announcement. He said he did not want to be hypocritical by advocating the discussion of mental health and then could not look after his own.
Fender said how sorry he was before cancelling many of his headline shows in America, including his performance with Florence and the Machine, and his performance in Las Vegas in the show Life is Beautiful.
He went on to say that his growing business made it impossible for him to perform with fake happiness and wellness. He regretfully said that it is difficult for him to focus on his well-being while being on the road at the same time. His colleagues and close ones have been worried about him for some time now. He said his health would not improve unless he took time to work on himself.
This announcement came recently after Sam Fender announced his homecoming performance at Saint James's Park in Newcastle's United Stadium. It was meant to happen on the 9th of June, 2023. Fender called it a childhood dream come true.
