Singer Nicola Roberts to perform at renowned BBC ballroom

In an interview with BBC The One Show, The Girls Aloud star Nicola Roberts was not hesitant about discussing her involvement in the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special.
The singer, who is not a novice to reality television, has been paired with Giovanni Pernice. She previously won ITV's The Masked Singer UK.

On Christmas Day, Roberts will appear in the renowned BBC ballroom together with Gavin and Stacey's Larry Lamb and Nadiya Bychkova, soap actor Alexandra Mardell and Kai Widdrington. Others who would appear along Roberts include Radio 1 DJ Rickie Haywood-Williams and Luba Mushtuk, podcaster Rosie Ramsey and Neil Jones, and CBeebies presenter George Webster and Amy Dowden.


Giovanni and Rose Ayling-Ellis received the Strictly 2021 glitterball trophy.

Nicola Roberts went on to talk about waltz practice at the rehearsal studio.
She said, “The waltz is so technical and so different from anything that I've done before. I don't necessarily like the learning process because I lose concentration but Gio is very continuous. I was grateful because when I finally got to do the waltz which I was prepared for," Roberts said.

The singer then brutally added, "I knew that I had put the training in and followed directions as much as possible. And as much as during the rehearsal process I might have wanted to strangle him, I was glad that when I left the ballroom I thought I had done a good job of the waltz."

Nicola rushed to Instagram to post a video of herself singing during practices that Giovanni had captured. Nicola remarked in the picture, "Pretty sure, I should have been warming up my body not my voice!!" as the former girl band star sang out Celine Dion's classic "All By Myself."
